Cards with leftovers

Do you keep your scraps ? Do you use your scraps ? I do ! I can't throw away anything if I know I will probably use it... I do use my scraps.
I have a box where I keep all these little things that I made but that finally didn't fit my layout : my "everything-and-anything" box. Lastly, this box was so full that it was really time to use some of it...

A homemade embellishments folder !

I loved so much the rainbow color palette suggested by Margareta for the March Scrap Stash Kit Club that I decided to make a folder with handmade embellishments !

homemade embellishments with Kesiart papers
Papers : Patterned papers by Kesiart and cardstock by Bazzill - Tools : dies by Kesiart (white word and heart) - Other : machine sewing, ribbon and India ink.

I stitched several acetate pages on the folder and I used removal adhesive to stick my embellishments on them.

After I took this photo, I also added two pockets on the inner cover for holding more embellishments.

Here is a closer look to the inside pages :

From top left to bottom right, a pocket with embellishment cards, some multicolored labels (stamped), some flowers (quilling anf felt), some cork and embossed vellum shapes, some layered shapes and glazed wood buttons, some faux stickers (stamped), some fabric and paper bows, some rosettes, and an envelope with fussy cut stamped labels or tickets.

If you want more details about handmade embellishments, you can check this old post with lots of tutorials links.

Finally, I also made some 3 by 4 embellishment cards, even if I don't do Project Life, because they are so cute !

Papers : Patterned papers by Kesiart and carstock by Bazzill - Tools : dies by Kesiart, Lawn Fawn and Quickutz - Stamps : Florileges Design, Denim Tampons, Kesiart, Katzelkraft, Bloomini Studio, Hero Arts, 4h37, InMi Creation, Toga, La Scraposphère and Artemio.

Here is some quick explanations about the cards :

1. Calendar stamp + white embossing powder on kraft background.
2. Circle stamp + white embossing powder on patterned background.
3. Stamp + clear embossing powder + watercolor + removed melted powder by ironing it (with a tissue paper between the card and the iron to absorb the melted powder).

March Scrap Stash Kit Club : a rainbow color palette

http://www.useyourstash.com/

This month, the Scrap Stash Kit Club color palette is... rainbow ! Here is my kit :

I will share more about my embellishments folder tomorrow : it's full of homemade embellishments, labels, PL cards, flowers, bows, and much more !

I made a bunch of wood flairs ala Crate Paper, using cheap wooden buttons (by a french brand named "Artemio") !

homemade wood glazed buttons

3. J'ai généreusement recouvert de Glossy Accent.
4. J'ai laissé sécher et voilà !

Here is how I did :

1. I stuck a patterned paper circle inside the button.
2. I embellished with a tiny die cut shape.
3. I generously covered with Glossy Accent.
4. I allowed it to dry and voila !

They really look like the pretty Crate Paper ones, don't they ?

A homemade embellishments folder

 http://sketchnscrap.blogspot.fr/

Here is another sketch for this month on Sketch-N-Scrap blog ! I used it to make my mini album cover :

homemade embellishment Beloved Fancy Pants
Papers : patterned papers by Fancy Pants (collection "Beloved") and cardstock by Bazzill - Tools : dies by Kesiart (word and flower) and edge punch by fiskers ("apron lace") - Other : machine sewing, masking tape, felt and button.

Actually, it's not really a mini album, it's a folder for homemade embellishments ! (You can check my previous blog post about homemade embellishments if you are looking for tutorials links). I had a lot of fun making it, and now I can't wait to use it !

Kesi express : a fun french game !

This year, I decided to participate to a french game organized by a manufacturer I love, Kési'art. Welcome to the "Kesi'express"!
Each week, the game brings the players to a new country and there are differents prompts to make a project. Then, two scrapbookers face each other and only one wins. The game started with 128 players, then 64 and now, we are 32 left.
So, after Arizona and Mexico, we are now in Peru ! Here is my project for this week's challenge :

homemade set of cards
Patterned papers, dies and stamps by Kesiart.

scrapbooking homemade card
Papers : patterned papers by Kesiart and cardstock by Bazzill - Tools : dies by Kesiart (heart and tags) and stamps by Kesiart (sentiment, chevrons and hearts) - Other : brad and machine sewing.

I was asked to use only warm colors, the love theme, and also chevrons (this last one was my "black flag" because I was the very last to send my project last week).

It probably will be my last stop but it was a fun game !

Use Your stuff challenge

 http://useyourstuff.blogspot.fr/

This week on Use Your Stuff blog, Barb chose this pretty ad to inspire you !

scrapbooking inspiration

As for me, I loved the grid design, and I thought it would be perfect for the first page of my 2013 "Month-in-review" album. I had so much fun to embellish each "square" !

scrapbooking layout Fancy Pants Timbergrove
Papers : cardstock by American Crafts and patterned papers by Fancy Pants (collection "Timbergrove") - Tools : dies by Kesi'art (flower, tag, hearts, butterflies, doily and words), Marianne Design (bird), Stampin'Up (leave) and Quickutz (squares, tags), and embossing folder by Cuttlebug - Other : machine sewing, brads, vellum, felt, twine, buttons and ribbon.

Don't forget to link your project on the Use Your Stuff blog if this ad inspires you !

Love card with a cute fox

Last month, I was inspired by a challenge on a french forum ("The Coffee Scrap") and I made this card :

Papers : cardstock by Bazzill and patterned papers by Jillibean Soup (collection "Happy Camper Stew" and "County Pumpkin Chowder Soup") - Tool : leave die by stampin'Up and heart die by Docrafts - Stamp : Florilege Design - Other : machine sewing, twine, vellum and brads.

The challenge was to use kraft, heart, red and stitching !
